Our price includes local transportation to go to Terelj, the ger to ger tour with a local guide (no translator going along with you), nights in ger and meals shared with local families.

Luggage are carried by ox cart or horse.

Difficulty level : Between 25 to 30 kilometres per day.

Comfort level : Simple

Backpack needed : sleeping bag, flask, sun cream face, first aid kit (i.e. suction poison, bandage, plaster, water purifying pills, mosquito repellent, anti-diarrhoea and anti-constipation products, etc. …)

Program

Day 1 : Departure at 4pm from UB by local bus to Terelj village. Ox cart ride to cross the river and to arrive to the 1st family who welcomes you : Sodvoo
Day 2 : Walking to the second family, Erdenbileg.
Day 3 : Trekking to the Gunjin temple and walking back to Erdenbileg’s.
Day 4 : Walking to the third family, Enkhtaivan.
Day 5 : Trekking to the surronding valleys to enjoy beautiful sceneries. Walking back to Enkhtaivan’s
Day 6 : Walking to the fourth family, Enkhbayar.
Day 7 : Walking back to the first family, Sodvoo.
Day 8 : Ox cart ride back to Terelj and early departure at 8 am by local  bus to UB.

*Detailed itinerary

Day 1 : Departure from UB by bus at 4pm. Arrival time scheduled at 6.30pm at Terelj village. You will there welcomed by a member of Sodvoo’s family. A ox cart is waiting for you to cross the river. Diner and night in your host ger.
Day 2 : Walking to the second family, Erdenebileg. Along with your local guide, you will be wandering all day (27/30 km) to arrive end of the afternoon at Erdenebileg’s. His family is a young one, he has got 3 children among whom two are going to elementary school and a 3-month-old baby. They own sheep, goats, cows and horses. Erdenebileg is a horse trainer and pay special attention to the horses participating in the Naadam celebration. His oldest son will take part in his very first Naadam this year. You can attend the horse training and ride a horse if you wish it.
Day 3 : Trekking (7 to 8 hours) to go the ruins of the Princess Gunj Temple and trekking back to Erdenebileg to spend a second night at his.
Day 4 : Walking to the third family, Enkhtaivan (30 km). You will arrive in the afternoon at Enkhtaivan’s. He and his wife has got 3 daughters among whom two are married and live in the city whereas the little one lives with them. She has a-2-year-old daughter.

They have 5 grand-children who often visit them during Summers. Their cattle counts with ox, cows, sheep and goats. Enkhtaivan’s wife is known in the neighbourhood to be an excellent sewer : felt carpet, deels (Mongolian traditional clothes) etc. … she will be delighted to teach you the bases !

Day 5 : You will spend a second day and night at Enkhtaivan’s and go trekking in the surronding valleys.

Day 6 : Walking to Enkhbayar’s. There are about 25 km between the two settlement. Enkhbayar lives with his wife and his 25-year-old son. His daughter (27 years old) is married and lives in the city with her two children, who visit their grand-parents during Summers. Enkhbayar owns ox cattle.

Day 7 : Walking to come back to Sodvoo, the first family who has welcomed you.

Day 8 : Departure to UB. Ox cart ride to cross back the river and early departure at 8am by bus to come back to the city. Arrival scheduled at around 11 am.
